GRAD2TMI.GX (horizontal gradients to total field) is an OASIS Montaj^TM based GX tool for calculating a total magnetic field grid from two horizontal gradient Hx and Hy grids (Nelson, 1994). There are two advantages for applying this GX to measured horizontal gradient data:

• highlight anomalies (e.g. kimberlites) with high gradients;
• eliminate the need to collect tie lines thus reducing survey costs.
