PGW Geophysicists Wrap Up Training in Nigeria

Posted Oct 26th, 2022

Last week, two of our Geophysicists wrapped up a three-week training course In Abuja, Nigeria as part of the Mineral Sector Support for Economic Diversification (MinDiver), incorporating a 1.7 million line-km magnetic/radiometric survey which is being flown by Xcalibur Multiphysics.

Skyler Mallozzi and Peter Tschirhart delivered technical training sessions on Introduction to the Magnetic and Radiometric methods, airborne quality control, data processing, and geophysical interpretation. Skyler spent the full three weeks in Nigeria heading the first two weeks of material, while Peter joined for the third week to deliver the training on geophysical interpretation. Joining Skyler and Peter was Dr. Oladele Olaniyan, one of PGW's local geophysicists who acts in a consulting position, who assisted in making sure trainees were caught up on material and assisting where necessary.

We thank MinDiver for their hospitality and graciousness, Dr. Olaniyan for his assistance, and the trainees who put in a lot of effort to learn and improve their skills as Geophysicists over the last three weeks. We look forward to continuing our work in the project performing QA/QC services while preparing for another round of training in the new year.
